Krishna Janmashtami
Lord Krishna is one of the most powerful
incarnations of the Hindu dharma.

occasion of the birth of Lord Sri Krishna.
People keep fast till 12.00 midnight in
order to show devotion to Lord Krishna.
• It is believed that Lord Krishna took
birth to fight with the evil powers that
existed on the earth.
• Lord Krishna is believed to be the 8th
avatar of Lord Vishnu.
• Krishna's birth is often considered as the
end of the miserable lives of people of
Mathura who were under the rule of
Kansa.
• It is celebrated on 8th day that is
'Ashtami' of the dark fortnight that is
'Krishna Paksha' in Shravan and Bhadon
month.
